NEW YORK COSMOS B

Wednesday 26th March 2019 Motamed Field, New York   Attendance - The Cosmos were held 0v0 by Adelphi University in New York's third pre-season game. Cosmos dominated the first half hour enjoying plenty of possession, but the Panthers defence held firm. Adelphi came out with renewed vigor in the 2nd half, but could not muster a goal as the game ended scoreless.

Thursday 21st March 2019 Hofstra University, New York   Attendance - Cosmos recorded a second consecutive 4v0 win in Pre-Season following a win over Queens College. Cosmos took just 6mins to open the scoring after a blistering effort from Bocanegra from a backheel from Junior Burgos. Queens prevented any further score in the first half, but just minutes into the 2nd half Espinal doubled the lead with a curling effort. As the game wore on Queens found it increasingly difficult to match their more experienced opponents and Cosmos took advantage with 2 late goals. Espinal made it 3 goals in 2 Pre-Season games with a late tap-in before Bardic made it 4v0 just a minute later.

Friday 15th March 2019 Hofstra University, New York   Attendance - Following a season long hiatus the Cosmos senior team made it's comeback in a 4v0 win pre-season win over Hofstra University ahead of the NPSL Pro Season. Dafwin Espinal scored the opening goal with a curling effort into the top corner. By halftime Cosmos had added 2 more to the lead, following a debut goal from Ricardo Bocanegra with a beautiful strike from the edge of the box and a close range effort from Al Hassan. Cosmos used an entirely different 11 players in the second half against opposition that included some physical players. There was only 1 goal in the 2nd half, with Bardic finishing off the scoring after a good move.
