(NPSL 2016) Seacoast United Phantoms 0v6 New York Cosmos B
Sunday 8th May 2016
Amesbury Sports Park, Massachusetts Attendance -
A
flurry of 2nd half goals ensured that Cosmos B eased to victory against
Seacoast Phantoms. Cosmos dominated possession in the early stages and Michael
Holzer had 2 efforts on goal in the space of a few minutes. His first effort
went wide and his second was tipped over the bar, after being found on the edge
of the box from a corner.
Seacoast
almost kept it scoreless in the first half, but were undone by a penalty in the
41st minute, awarded for a handball. Frankie Castellanos stepped up to score to
send Cosmos 1v0 up at the half.
Cosmos
doubled the lead just before the hour mark as Trey Williams found Ivan
Berterame with a cross. That goal opened the floodgates and Williams in
particular as he went on to score a hat-trick.
He
drove up the middle and produced a shot from outside the area that the keeper
could not hold to put Cosmos 3v0 up.
6
minutes later and Williams got his second, picking up a rebound after a
Castellanos shot came off the bar.
Williams
completed his hat-trick on 81mins . Phantoms could not even manage a
consolation from the penalty spot as Hector Guerrero ensured a clean sheet.
