(NPSL 2018) New York Cosmos B 4v0 Kingston Stockade
Saturday 7th July 2018
Colombia University, New York Attendance -
Cosmos completed a perfect 10-0 season with a routine win over Kingston Stockade. From the outset the game was played almost exclusively in the Stockade half with the away team relying on the lone figure of Creswick up front to try and fashion something.
Stockade held out for just over 20mins before they were undone by a fine header by Wojcik from a Barrajo cross.
The goal did little to change the pattern of the game with Cosmos still dominating and they doubled their lead soon after with Barrajo again the supplier as his low cross found Bardic who made it 2v0. Bardic almost made it 3v0 after a low cross from Wojcik found the Cosmos striker, only for Bardic to somehow miss from close range, with the offside flag saving some of his embarrassment. Undeterred Bardic continued to threaten and fired into the side netting before finding the net again just before half time after a lay off by Brown.
With the game all but wrapped up the second half was a procession with Cosmos continuing to dominate and testing the Kingston keeper with some efforts on goal. A series of substitutions on both sides from both sides interrupted the flow of the game, but Cosmos did manage to add another goal from Bardic to complete his hat-trick.
Garcia played a clever ball through to Bartley whose mis-hit shot was dragged across goal, but Bardic was following in to tap in.
New York now will look forward to a much tougher test in the playoffs in their quest for a NPSL Championship.
