(NPSL 2019) New York Cosmos B 5v1 Hartford City

Saturday 2nd June 2019
Mitchel Athletic Complex, New York   Attendance - 4,125

Even an early goal from Hartford couldn't knock Cosmos off their stride as they eased to a 5v1 victory to consolidate their position at the top of the conference. Cosmos conceded their first goal from open play when Sebastian Stezewski fired past Blanchette in the 7th minute following a corner kick.  Blanchette was needed soon after to tip over an effort from Hartford's Luke Alvaro.
Cosmos initially found the Hartford defence difficult to penetrate, but equalised via a Hartford own goal. Ansi Agolli sent a ball into the box and a scramble led to an Aaron Dennis effort going in off goalkeeper Evan Daddona. Free-kick expert Junior Burgos added another strike to the collection curling an effort into the Hartford net just shy of the half hour mark to put Cosmos ahead. Daddona was called into action on a number of occasions as Cosmos applied the pressure, It took a flying save from the Hartford keeper to stop another Burgos free-kick from finding the net before half time.
It wasn't all one way as Blanchette pulled off a good stop to deny an unmarked Tyler Carlos on a 2 on 1 situation as Cosmos led 2v1 at the interval.
Hartford were reduced to 10 men early in the 2nd half following a challenge from Andre Morrison on Burgos, with Burgos needing to leave the game due to injury. Cosmos took full advantage of the man advantage and Bocanegra made it 3v1 on 64mins from the penalty spot after a foul on David Diosa.

Hassan made another impressive showing from the subs bench as he scored just 6mins after being introduced into the action. Hassan added another late on after Daddona ventured out of his goal to make it 5v1.
