Sunday 22nd May 2016
Hofstra University, New York Attendance -
Cosmos
B recoded a 4th victory in 5 games after a 2v0 victory over Seacoast Phantoms.
It didn't take long for the Cosmos to create the first chance on goal as
Mitrano saw an effort go off the crossbar after just 2mins. Just 3mins later
and Mitrano again was denied by the crossbar as the Phantoms survived another
early scare.
At
the other end the Phantoms had a great chance to take the lead through Haji,
but Palafox was on hand for the Cosmos to break up the chance.
The
Phantoms defence was finally breached 7mins before half time when Trey Williams
headed in a cross from Castellanos. The home side pushed on in search of a
second goal before the interval, but it remained 1v0 at half time.
The
Phantoms changed their keeper at half time and he was picking the ball out of
the back of the net just 8mins into the half as Stahler converted from close
range following a corner. Trey Williams tested the Phantoms keeper with further
efforts on goal, but Phantoms prevented any further additions to the scoring as
the Cosmos settled for a 2 goal victory.
