Hofstra University, New York    Attendance -

A brace from Zaire Bartley earned Cosmos a berth in the Northeast Regional final after a comfortable 2v0 win over FC Frederick. New York's progress in the playoffs had been anything but routine thusfar, but Cosmos had little trouble in this match. Cosmos had the Mid Atlantic Champions on the back foot from the start and had an early ling range effort from Neeskeens which needed a save from their keeper. Wojcik could have given Cosmos an early lead as he connected with a good cross from Szetela, but the Cosmos forward's header was straight at the keeper. Cosmos continued to pepper the Frederick goal with efforts as Espinal and Szetela both went close.
It took 30mins before the visitors launched an attack of note and it was a dangerous one as the ball was played to an unmarked Eskay. Tenjo decided to rush out of his goal, but the risk paid off as under pressure Eskay could not control his shot.
Bartley missed a great chance to give Cosmos the lead late in the half after Frederick were caught in possession on the edge of their own box, but the striker blazed his shot well over, but Bartley made amends soon after with a fine finish giving Cosmos a well deserved half time lead.
Cosmos started the 2nd half with the same attacking intent as Brown outpaced the Frederick defence, but his shot was well saved by the keeper. Frederick improved in the 2nd half, but there was still little threat from them and Cosmos always looked likely to get a second. Wojcik had the ball in the net halfway through the 2nd half, but the offside flag ruled the effort out.
Zaire Bartley has flourished in the absence of Bardic and he made it 2v0 with a good show of power and pace after a good pass from Szetela.
The victory sets up a regional final clash with the highly regarded FC Motown. The Frederick keeper did well to prevent a 3rd as he initially made a good save from a Sanchez free-kick and made a great stop from the rebound to deny Wojcik.
